For NEXT FALL 2024-2025 enrollment  


If your child CURRENTLY attends one of the following feeder schools, parents do not need to pre-register.  A complete school packet will go home with your child within the first week of school.  Inside the packet will be necessary documents that parents will need to look over and sign.  If you have questions about the Matriculation or the Elective Card that is due in the spring, please contact our Site Tech, Brandon Laxa at [email protected]

If you live outside the Lewis Middle School attendance boundary, you must submit an Enrollment Options CHOICE application by the San Diego Unified School District deadline.  It is based on a lottery system.  Accepted applicants are notified by the San Diego Unified School District Neighborhood Schools Enrollment Options Department and Lewis Middle School in February or March.

The CHOICE applications are available online October 2, 2023 – November 15, 2023. 

Make sure not to miss the deadline.  It is a lottery. 

You will be notified by the district if you made the lottery, beginning in February and March 2024.

Note: the office will be closed on holidays including the following:  2024

  Lincoln/Washington Birthday (Feb 16 & Feb 19, 2024)

  Spring Break (April 1 -April 5 2024)

  Memorial Day (May 27, 2024)

  School closed for Summer Break  (June 7th, 2024 – July 30th 2024)   Students first day of school:  Aug 12th.


You will need to provide the following documents for enrollment:
*Proof of your residency: A recent (within the last 30 days) utility bill (gas, electric, sewer or cable); signed lease; military housing orders; or, recent documents addressed to you from social services
*Immunization records: State of CA Health Requirements No child will be admitted without proof of current immunization requirements.
*Recent report card or progress report/ Exit grades from previous school

*A copy of the most recent IEP or 504: if applicable
*Birth certificate:  Only if New to SDUSD San Diego Unified School District

Any other school records that would be helpful in your child's placement are welcome.
